Following an intense two-day battle, the 15-member Powerboat Association of Brunei Darussalam (PBLBD) contingent of powerboat racers and crew members finished favourably at the Bintangor Powerboat Race 2022.
The competition marks the first time the association was able to compete since the start of the global pandemic, representing the Sultanate at the international level.
The 8090 Racing Team and Miratrisyia Racing Team, both under the PBLBD, finished in third and fourth runner-up positions respectively in the SST60 category.
Other private teams from Brunei Darussalam also competed in the international tournament. This includes the Raja Kerbau Racing Team who placed second in both the 30hp (two pistons) Tunnel Boat and 30hp (three pistons) Tunnel Boat categories, while Gemilang 111 finished first in the 50hp category.
Another private group Brunei MMRE Racing Team placed second in the SST60 category.
