Brunei Darussalam on Tuesday logged 447 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 136,821

Brunei Darussalam on Tuesday logged 447 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 136,821. Of the new cases detected on Tuesday, 425 cases were from ART test results uploaded to the BruHealth application, while 22 were from 485 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.

 

Meanwhile, one fatality was recorded and categorised as death not due to COVID-19.

 

This was said by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the daily press conference on Tuesday.

 

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin also attended. “In light of the fatality, as a representative of the ministry as well as the people of Brunei, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the case’s family. May the case’s soul receive blessings and be placed among the pious,” said the minister.

 

On the number of cases in Categories 4 and 5, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said, “There are two cases in Category 5 requiring treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU), and three cases in Category 4 requiring oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring.”

 

The minister said 773 cases have recovered, bringing the tally of recovered cases to 133,494. Meanwhile, the tally of active cases are 3,113, 60 of which are treated in hospitals and 3,053 cases undergoing home self-isolation.
