Children five – to 11-years on the Pfizer vaccine can take their second dose after three weeks, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in a press conference on Tuesday.

“This is in contrast with other vaccines like AstraZeneca where the second dose can only be taken after 12 weeks,” the minister said.

Regardless of vaccination status, children aged five-11 will still return to school on May 14, after the first school term and Hari Raya holidays.

Meanwhile Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said private sector staff wishing to visit government departments need not have to take multiple screenings with COVID-19 antigen rapid testing.

“A single test during the day is adequate,” he said.
