The public can pay their Zakat Fitrah digitally through Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) QuickPay.

Powered by BIBD NEXGEN, BIBD QuickPay allows customers to make payments by scanning a QR code through the BIBD NEXGEN Wallet mobile app on their smartphones.

As a Partner in Progress, BIBD has always supported the nation’s drive towards become a Smart Nation, powered by a digital economy.

The Digital Zakat Fitrah is a collaboration between BIBD and the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and serves as an example to drive a cashless society. This initiative is part of BIBD’s drive to encourage customers to Go Cashless and Go Digital.

With the concerns surrounding COVID-19, this method brings convenience and safety to the public as they can now pay in a contactless manner, without the need to go to a mosque.

The payment of Zakat Fitrah online can be made from now until the 28th of Ramadhan, 1443 Hijrah. With their smartphones, the public can scan and pay digitally using BIBD QuickPay or Progresif Pay.

Apart from giving greater convenience, the method brings greater security as it reduces the risks when carrying loose cash.
