418 new cases detected on Wednesday. bringing the number of confirmed cases to 137,239

Brunei Darussalam’s tally of daily new COVID-19 cases continued to remain under the 500 mark with 418 new cases detected on Wednesday. This brings the number of confirmed cases to 137,239.

 

Of the new cases, 389 were from antigen rapid test (ART) results, while 29 were from 853 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours. No COVID-19 fatalities were reported.

 

This was said by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the daily press conference on Wednesday, joined by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin.

 

“One case in Category 5 requires treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) while two in Category 4 require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring,” said the minister.

 

A total of 615 cases have recovered, said Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham, bringing the number of recovered cases to 134,109. Meanwhile, the tally of active cases are 2,916, with 58 being treated at hospitals and 2,858 undergoing home self-isolation.
