Brunei Darussalam continued to flatten the curve against the third wave of COVID-19 outbreak with 217 new cases detected on Wednesday.

 

The tally of confirmed cases stands at 139,278, while no COVID-19 fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours.

 

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar shared this at the daily press conference on Wednesday.

 

Of the latest figures, the minister said 207 were detected through the antigen rapid test (ART), while 10 of the 434 RT-PCR laboratory tests conducted in the past 24 hours tested positive.

 

Meanwhile, there are no Category 4 cases and only one Category 5 case is being treated at the intensive care unit (ICU), said the minister.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said 350 cases have recovered, bringing the number of recovered cases to 136,663. Meanwhile, the number of active cases stand at 2,399, with 48 receiving treatment at hospitals and 2,351 undergoing home self-isolation.

 

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin also attended the press conference.
