The candidate for RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan Area 2 village head Haji Omar bin Haji Sapar, 55, the current acting village head of RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan Area 2, received 432 votes in favour, five not in favour and three spoilt votes when residents voted for the village head on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Haji Mohammad Fazzly bin Haji Suhaili, 38, the candidate for the RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan Area 4 village head received 100 votes in favour, six not in favour and one spoilt vote. Mohammad Fazzly previously served TAIB Insurans Islam.

The voting took place at the Community Hall II of RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan.

Brunei-Muara District Officer Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim was present to witness the vote count in the afternoon.

Also in attendance were senior officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), the acting penghulu, village heads and acting village heads from the Brunei-Muara District.

Meanwhile, Mukim Serasa residents placed their votes for the RPN Kampong Meragang Area 1 and Area 2 village head candidates at the multipurpose hall of the the Meragang Sixth Form Centre.

The candidate for the RPN Kampong Meragang Area 1 village head was 45-year-old Madzlan bin Haji Jumat who currently holds a post in the Security Unit, Brunei Internal Security Department. He received 134 votes in favour and seven votes not in favour.

The candidates for RPN Kampong Meragang Area 2 Village Head were 51-year-old Mohammad bin Haji Tamin who is currently working at the Housing Development Department, Ministry of Development; and 55-year-old Tasad bin Haji Tamam who previously worked at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications.

Mohammad received 224 in favour while Tasad received 44 votes in favour.

Brunei-Muara Assistant District Officer Haji Amirul Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad was also present. Also in attendance were senior MoHA officers, acting penghulu, village heads and acting village heads from the Brunei-Muara District.

The votes were conducted through ballot papers and the PMKK e-Vote mobile app.

Registration to vote using the PMKK e-Vote mobile app closed on Thursday. Voting through the app started on Friday and ended on Sunday.

The results of the voting and selection of candidates for village heads conducted on Sunday will be presented to the Board of Appointment, Discipline and Procedures for the Mukim Penghulu and Village Head at the MoHA for the next step in the selection process.
