Two cars collided at an intersection near Lorong Tiga, Seria in Belait District on Saturday evening, claiming the life of a 43-year-old foreign national.
Investigations revealed the accident was a result of the other driver running through a red light at the intersection when the victim was making a turn towards Pekan Seria.
Seria Police Station investigations stated that the victim was with a passenger when his vehicle collided with another vehicle around 10.55pm.
The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) in a statement said the force of the impact caused the victim to be ejected from his car, leading to his death.
The driver of the other vehicle and the passengers isustained minor injuries. The RBPF is investigating the cause of the accident.
The enforcement agency also issued a public advisory urging motorists to practise safe driving and observe the speed limit at all times.
