182 new cases recorded on Tuesday, bringing the number of active cases to 959

Brunei Darussalam continued to flatten the curve against the third wave of COVID-19 with 182 new cases recorded on Tuesday, bringing the number of active cases to 959.

 

Thirty-seven patients are receiving treatment at hospitals, while 922 are undergoing home self-isolation.

 

No COVID-19 fatalities were reported.

 

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar shared the updates during the daily press conference on Tuesday, joined by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin.

 

On the latest number of infection, the minister said 162 cases were from antigen rapid test (ART) kit results, while the remaining from 877 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.

 

The number of cases reported in the Sultanate since March 2020 stands at 140,364.

 

Meanwhile, there is one Category 5 patient being treated at the intensive care unit and one in Category 4 requiring oxygen assistance and is under close monitoring, said the minister.
