Brunei Darussalam detected 105 new cases bringing the tally of confirmed cases in the Sultanate to 141,119

Brunei Darussalam detected 105 new cases of COVID-19 – 98 from antigen rapid tests (ART) and seven from 808 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during the daily press conference on Sunday.

 

This raised the tally of confirmed cases in the Sultanate to 141,119. No COVID-19 fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours.

 

“There are two Category 5 patients receiving treatment at the intensive care unit,” said Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham.

 

The minister shared that 158 cases have recovered, bringing the number of recoveries to 139,882.

 

Meanwhile, the number of active cases stands at 1,019 cases, with 20 cases being treated at hospitals, and 999 undergoing home self-isolation.

 

Earlier, the minister shared that Saturday saw 1,558 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine being administered to children aged five to 11, bringing the number of vaccines administered to 16,314 or 38 per cent of children in the age group.

 

The minister added that some 61 children in this age group have received the second dose of the vaccine on Saturday, covering 0.1 per cent of children.

 

The coverage rate for the country’s population who have received three doses of the vaccine is at 64.1 per cent.
