The Sultanate is currently experiencing a rise in both influenza-like illness (ILI) and COVID-19 infections, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said in a statement on Monday.
There are currently eight COVID-19 patients requiring respiratory assistance and close medical supervision.
Most cases can be attributed to the Omicron variant and its sub-variants. There is also a seasonal increase in ILI cases, the ministry said.
