Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad on Tuesday outlined progress achieved in the past four years during the 20th session of the Legislative Council (LegCo).
The minister said 862 out of 1,965 (over 40 per cent) individuals registered at JobCentre Brunei have secured employment. From this figure, 39 per cent or 337 individuals, received assistance from the Community Development Department (JAPEM), the Zakat, Wakaf and Baitulmal Affairs Department, and Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan).
Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi said 160 individuals registered under JAPEM are engaged in entrepreneurial activities while 209 aid recipients have joined training and capacity-building programmes conducted in collaboration with Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) and the Youth Development Centre (PPB).
