The Ministry of Home Affairs is looking into setting up a National Emergency Response System (NERS), utilising artificial intelligence (AI) to help the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) to carry out operations and the deployment of assets that are more systematic and guided by accurate information, Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman said.
He said this during the department’s 64th anniversary parade at the marching ground of the department’s headquarters on Saturday.
“Understanding the challenges and speculations experienced by officers and firefighters, the department needs to move forward in line with the current development, especially in carrying out duties with using technology so that the implementation of operations and the deployment of assets are systematic and guided by accurate information,” said the minister.
