Haji Mahrub bin Haji Murni stepped down as the Interim President and Deputy President of the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) on Monday.
The FABD made the announcement of his resignation yesterday, which took effect immediately yesterday.
The national football governing body also announced the appointment of Pengiran Haji Kamarunsalehin bin Pengiran Haji Kamis as the Interim President starting today.
The decision was made in an Executive Committee Meeting on Monday where FABD’s Executive Committee Members voted in favour for him to assume the interim role. The Interim President will deputise the position of president until the official FABD Ordinary Congress is organised, estimated to be held on June 2025 where a new president will be elected to serve the remainder of the 2023-2027 term.
The announcement comes less than a month after the appointment was made in the wake of the removal of Haji Feisal bin Haji Eusoff Patail as the president. – Fadhil Yunus
