Two representatives from the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) will attend the ‘Perhimpunan Penulis Wanita Sastera Senusantara’ (Nusantara Women Writers Assembly) 2025, from today until tomorrow in Melaka, Malaysia.

Organised by the Ikatan Persuratan Melayu (IPM), an affiliate of GAPENA, the two-day programme brings together female writers and literary researchers from across the Malay Archipelago to help strengthen library ties and cultural identities among the participants.

DBP language officer Sharyanty binti Haji Mohd Sharif will also be attending as a presenter, delivering a paper titled ‘The Role of DBP Brunei in Unifying Regional Identity’.

She is joined by DBP Editorial Assistant Noralfizah binti Gambor @ Mohd Firdaus.

Ahead of the assembly, Sharyanty conducted a pre-presentation session to share key findings from her research.

The session is organised by the Human Resource Development Unit, under the Administration and Finance Division of DBP.

The assembly also serves as a platform for strengthening literary ties and cultural identity among women writers in the Nusantara region. – Daniel Lim
