SEOUL (ANN/THE KOREA HERALD) – Chaeyoung of K-pop girl group Twice is set to make her solo debut on September 12, according to an announcement by JYP Entertainment on Friday.
To mark the occasion, the label released a short-form video featuring behind-the-scenes clips of Chaeyoung working on her upcoming record — including scenes of her singing in a recording booth, collaborating with Japanese pop band Gliiico, and playing the piano.
Chaeyoung will become the fourth member of Twice to launch a solo project, following Nayeon, Jihyo, and Tzuyu.
Her solo debut follows the growing popularity of “Takedown”, a track she performed alongside fellow Twice members Jeongyeon and Jihyo for the soundtrack of Netflix’s animated hit KPop Demon Hunters. The song recently climbed to No. 67 on the Billboard Hot 100, up from No. 76 the previous week.
