ANN/THE KOREA HERALD – Fans of K-pop sensation Blackpink gathered outside London’s Wembley Stadium on Friday ahead of the group’s highly anticipated concert.
The four-member act, whose popularity stretches across the globe, became only the second K-pop group to grace the iconic venue – following BTS, who performed there six years earlier.
For international artists, Wembley represents a career landmark. The stadium has a storied history of hosting legendary performances, from Queen’s Live Aid in 1985 to shows by megastars including Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Oasis.
Blackpink’s show marked the halfway point of their ongoing world tour, Deadline, which kicked off in July. The group is set to return to the Wembley stage once more on Saturday.
