Local veteran runner Sefli Ahar clinched victory in the men’s veteran category of the Cabaran Bukit Patoi yesterday, finishing ahead of Shamsuleffebdy bin Haji Sulaiman in second place and Guianus Salagan in third.

In the women’s veteran category, Erin Liam took top spot, followed by Kona Liau in second and Melati binti Haji Isa in third.

Meanwhile, the men’s open category was won by Junaidi Omar, with Mohammad Abdul Azim bin Haji Sijim claiming second and Mohd Shah Azahar placing third. In the women’s open, Erah Mid emerged champion, followed by Nur Seha Alea Abdullah Padan and Norazimah binti Md Zin.

The event, organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in conjunction with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2025, drew 100 participants.

Legislative Council member and Kampong Labu Estate and Piasau-Piasau Village Head Yang Berhormat Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir was the guest of honour.

Acting Temburong District Officer Hassan Baha bin Haji Umar and NCB Director Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Zalani bin Haji Ismail also attended. – Lyna Mohamad
