Three national bowling athletes from the National Association for the Hearing-Impaired (OKP) will carry the country’s hopes at the 2nd SEA Deaf Games 2025 to be held in Jakarta from tomorrow to August 26.

The Bruneian contingent comprises Md Nazri bin Haji Mahat, Md Haris bin Haji Hassan and Khairul Anwar bin Haji Jofari, who will compete in the singles, doubles and trios categories at the Artha Gading Bowling Centre. The team will be guided by coach Pengiran Saiful Rizal bin Pengiran Haji Yunus.

In the build-up to the tournament, the athletes received their official team jerseys. The jerseys were presented by Yakin Football League Operations Officer Shaheman bin Haji Sulaiman during a sponsorship ceremony recently.

The contingent also gained additional support from iBowl, with the sponsorship handed over by its manager Pengiran Mohammad Rudisofy bin Pengiran Haji Tajudin.

Looking ahead, Khairul Anwar, who represented Brunei at the 2022 edition in Kuala Lumpur, voiced his determination to perform strongly in Jakarta. “We have prepared thoroughly for this championship. I believe we can put up strong competition in our pursuit of success,” he said.

“The competition will be tough, but that will not deter our ambition to achieve victory.” – Daniel Lim & James Kon
