Eight COVID cases in Category 4 (06.07.2022)

The number of Category 4 cases requiring respiratory assistance and are under close monitoring has increased to eight, while Category 5 requiring treatment in the intensive care unit saw an increase of one case, totalling to four on Wednesday. No fatalities due to COVID-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours.

 

The latest updates on the COVID-19 situation in the Sultanate was shared in the Ministry of Health’s daily statement. The COVID-19 vaccine coverage in Brunei Darussalam continues to increase with a total 73.4 per cent of the country’s citizens and residents having received the third dose of the vaccine, while 3.3 per cent have also received the fourth dose.

 

The second dose of the vaccines has been administered to 76.1 per cent of children aged five to 11.

 

However, only 50.5 percent of adolescents aged 12 to 17 have received the third dose vaccination.

 

A total of 1,179 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 166,383.
